Acceptable Use Policy

01Scope of services and users

VPN Oxide is a consumer virtual private network (VPN). The legal entity that operates the service is named once in our Terms of Service (section 01). The service provides encrypted connectivity between your device and our network exit nodes so that your traffic leaves our network under our IP addresses rather than yours.

This AUP applies to:

• all customers and account holders of VPN Oxide;
• anyone who uses the website, dashboard, apps, configuration files or API endpoints we provide;
• anyone who uses a VPN Oxide account or credentials, whether authorised by the account holder or not;
• use of any protocol we support (including WireGuard, OpenVPN, IKEv2 and related clients).

The service is intended for lawful personal and ordinary commercial internet access — browsing, streaming for personal use, remote work, and privacy on untrusted networks. It is not a hosting platform for running public servers, bulletproof infrastructure, or bulk messaging systems.

02Permitted use

Subject to this AUP and our Terms of Service, you may use VPN Oxide to:

• encrypt traffic between your devices and our network;
• access the public internet through our server locations within the simultaneous-connection limits of your plan (currently five devices);
• use peer-to-peer file sharing where it is lawful in your jurisdiction and does not infringe third-party rights;
• protect yourself on public Wi‑Fi and reduce exposure of your originating IP address to third parties.

03Prohibited and high-risk use

You must not use VPN Oxide — and must not allow others to use your account — for any of the following. This list is not exhaustive; any use that is illegal, harmful, or threatens the security or reputation of our network is forbidden.

Illegal activity

• any activity that violates the laws of Cyprus, the European Union, the country where you are located, or the country of the server you connect through;
• fraud, identity theft, payment-card abuse, or money laundering;
• evading sanctions, export controls or other trade restrictions that apply to you or to the destination of the traffic.

Security abuse and network attacks

• hacking, unauthorised access, port scanning, vulnerability scanning, brute-force attacks, or DDoS / DoS attacks against any system;
• distributing or operating malware, botnets, remote-access trojans, exploit kits or command-and-control infrastructure;
• phishing, credential harvesting, or hosting pages that impersonate banks, governments or other services.

Harmful and restricted content

• creating, distributing or seeking child sexual abuse material, or any content that sexually exploits minors;
• content that promotes terrorism, violent extremism or the commission of violent crime;
• harassment, stalking, or threats that put individuals at real risk of harm.

Communications abuse

• sending spam or unsolicited bulk email, SMS or messages of any kind;
• open mail relays, open proxies, or using the service as a bulk outbound messaging platform.

Intellectual property and platform abuse

• copyright or trademark infringement, or large-scale unauthorised distribution of protected works;
• reselling, sublicensing, rebranding or white-labelling the service without our written permission;
• sharing, publishing or selling account credentials, or circumventing connection limits, rate limits or technical controls.

04Legal and sanctions compliance

You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of the service complies with all laws and regulations that apply to you, including but not limited to:

• criminal and cybercrime law;
• data protection and privacy law;
• copyright and intellectual-property law;
• export controls and economic sanctions (including EU, UN and other applicable regimes).

You must not use the service if you are a person or entity subject to sanctions that prohibit such use, or to facilitate transactions or access for sanctioned parties. We reserve the right to refuse, suspend or terminate service where we reasonably believe continued service would violate applicable law or sanctions.

VPN Oxide does not encourage or assist illegal activity. Encryption and privacy tools are provided for legitimate security and privacy purposes only.

05Platform rules and prevention of misuse

In addition to the prohibitions above, you agree to:

• keep login credentials confidential and use strong passwords;
• use the service only within your plan’s device and fair-use limits;
• not interfere with other customers’ use of the network or degrade shared infrastructure;
• not attempt to reverse-engineer, probe or disrupt our website, dashboard, apps, APIs or servers;
• not use automated systems to create accounts, abuse promotions or overwhelm our systems without permission;
• cooperate reasonably with us if we investigate a credible abuse report linked to your account.

We may apply technical measures to protect the platform (for example connection limits, rate limiting, or blocking known malicious patterns). Circumventing those measures is a breach of this AUP.

06Third parties and sub-users

Your account is personal. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account and credentials, including activity by:

• anyone you give access to (family members, employees, contractors);
• devices on which you install our apps or configuration files;
• third-party software that uses your VPN credentials.

If you provide access to others, you remain the contractual customer and remain liable for their compliance with this AUP and our Terms. We do not offer multi-tenant “sub-accounts” for end customers; plan device limits are for your own devices, not for resale to third parties.

Affiliates and partners who promote VPN Oxide under a separate arrangement must also ensure their marketing and any coupon use comply with this AUP and applicable law. Abuse of affiliate codes or self-referral schemes may lead to termination of partner access.

07Monitoring and enforcement rights

Privacy note. VPN Oxide is a no-logs VPN for content and browsing history: we do not record the websites you visit, the contents of your traffic, or your originating IP address for the purpose of building activity histories. Details are in our Privacy Policy.

That privacy stance does not prevent us from protecting the service. We reserve the right to:

• investigate credible reports of abuse, fraud, or AUP breaches using account, payment and technical information we lawfully hold;
• cooperate with law enforcement and competent authorities when required by applicable law, a valid legal order, or our legitimate interest in preventing serious crime;
• apply network-level filters or blocks to protect infrastructure (for example against active attacks on our servers);
• suspend, restrict or permanently terminate accounts that violate this AUP or our Terms;
• refuse future service to persons or entities who have seriously abused the platform;
• cancel affiliate or promotional access used to facilitate abuse.

Enforcement actions may include warning, temporary suspension, permanent termination, blocking of credentials, and, where the breach is serious or intentional, denial of refunds to the extent permitted by law. If we terminate solely for our convenience and not because of your breach, we will refund the unused portion of a prepaid term in line with our Terms of Service.

We may take immediate action without prior notice where we reasonably believe delay would cause harm, legal exposure, or ongoing abuse.

08Abuse reports

If you believe a VPN Oxide IP address or account is being used for illegal or abusive activity, contact us at [email protected] with as much detail as possible (timestamps, destination IPs/ports, sample logs, and your contact details). We review reports in good faith and act where we can identify a responsible account and a clear breach of this policy.

09Changes to this policy

We may update this Acceptable Use Policy from time to time. The current version is always published at vpnoxide.com/aup.html (or /aup.html on this site). Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the service after a change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
